Saluting Innovation @ SXSW

Saluting Innovation at SXSW for creating a event that turns Austin, Texas into the place to be each March. What began as a music festival in 1987 that attracted 700 people has grown into a 10-day multidisciplinary extravaganza with sub-conferences named Interactive, Music, and Film. This event brought over 76,000 people to town last year. SXSW continues to grow, They introduced a new Education category in 2013, that increased attendance by 23%. This year they added a Sports category. SXSW has earned its place as #12 on Fast Companies list of The World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies by refusing to become complacent. They have created momentum, and success is enabling the company to grow bigger and better. Last year, SXSW unveiled a spin off for start-up types dubbed SXSW V2V (Vision to Venture). This event takes place in Las Vegas featuring a start-up competition, panel discussions, and mentoring workshops for entrepreneurs. We salute SXSW for their unrivaled passion for innovation, inspiration, and creativity. That energy created a movement.
