I was asked this week to speak to a group of large-company Chief Information Officers on the subject of innovation in IT. At first I wasn’t sure that I have anything meaningful to say, but as I thought about the challenges and opportunities I see in my corporate client base I knew that IT is in need of a healthy dose of innovation.
Enterprise PLM programs are complex undertakings that require strong program management disciplines to control. Sometimes my advice to go fast and be “agile-like” in development is interpreted as not requiring the overhead of program management. On the contrary, strong program management enables both speed and simplicity.
